Kate’s unexpected response to reports Prince Harry is struggling with new UK life
As the Sussexes face challenges settling back into life in the UK, the Princess of Wales is feeling emotional
They’ve only been back for a matter of weeks, yet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK has already been anything but calm. Last week, attention shifted away from the couple’s comeback when a fresh dispute broke out over a long-awaited book about Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, written by her brother Charles Spencer. In the memoir, he makes the startling claim that the then-Prince Charles told him ‘we will forget her soon enough’, shortly after her tragic death in a Paris car crash.
Viscount Spencer also described how Charles sounded ‘elated… like a lottery winner’ during the call. He went on to share how he had attempted to prevent the royals from having William, then 15, and Harry, 11, walk behind the public funeral cortege, but was overruled because Charles wanted them there to shield him from being booed by crowds. The bombshell claims will no doubt have hit Harry particularly hard, as he has faced a rocky period since returning to the UK with his family.
And sources now say the Princess of Wales is struggling to watch her estranged brother-in-law deal with everything, particularly after he was forced to move his children to a different school after only two days amid security fears.
